The E-Day is here!

Today in our country is the elections day, the megafreakshow, performed by top politicians will be finally over and the bastards in charge will be switched for another bastards ;) It means no more hand-to-hand fights in front of the cameras, no more throwing dirt on the rival parties and no more doing things for the people... My employer gave us all free afternoon, so we can go and vote, of course, we also have got a recommendation about who should we vote, unbelievable...

Change. Future. Hope. Together. Sorry, boys, but I don't think so. This billboard belongs to the biggest Czech right-wing party. Their vision is not bad, but they had too much corruption scandals and other dark past to earn my trust.
ISO 100, 1/160s, f10

It reads: "Change the government before going for weekend, please." Strong words from "Mayor and mountaineer" as it is written below. ISO 400, 1/125s, f8

Paroubek the Peasant, our prime minister, as he is called by many people here. He is probably most famous for his role during last summer's year of internationally popular tekknival CzechTek 2005, when he instructed the police to stop the party at all costs, which resulted in hundreds of people wounded, traffic collapse on our most important highway and many criminal charges against both participants and policemen. Demonstrations of many thousands of people which took place afterwards in all bigger cities of our country didn't raise his popularity very much. He and his party are expected to lose the elections and become opposition. ISO 100, 1/200s, f8
The second picture of "adjusted" billboard I got via email. In addition to the slogan "I will work for you" the bottom line reads: "Only for a week now :)". Funny and most people believe true.

The legend on this caricature of Paroubek reads simply: "Swine". It maybe reflects the opinion of many young people who still remember last year's CzechTek. There has been many cartoons like this since then, including well known imitation of Uncle Sam with Paroubek's image and motto: "Next time, I will punch YOU out!"
ISO 400, 1/125s, f8

Free beer for ballot papers of KSČM (Czech Communist party) and ČSSD (Czech Socialist party - Paroubek). This is a common image, seen in Czech pubs these days. Even the small enterprisers express their fellings about political situation in Czech Republic. You bet I'm going to get my couple of free beers tonight =)

(CZ) A teď trochu vážně.
